Senior Scientist, R&D

HTG is seeking a Ph.D. level biochemist or molecular/cellular biologist to lead programs within its Research and Development Team. R&D programs are focused on new applications and platforms for HTG’s proprietary quantitative Nuclease Protection Assay (qNPA™) gene expression assay technologies. This individual will work at the bench and have responsibilities for leading programs that result in commercial products and publications describing product performance and applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead programs resulting in commercial products and publications.
Develop multiplexed and quantitative RNA and DNA assays on low and high density array and other platforms.

Required Experience:

    • Demonstrated industry success in a research and development laboratory.
    • Proven independence and leadership skills.
    • Successful project management experience.
    • In depth, hands-on experience with and knowledge of gene expression assay methods, array-based assaymethods, optical detection and optical probes, protein purification and ELISA assays.
    • Experience developing diagnostic assays.
    • Experience with product development and design controls required.
    • Ability to travel.
    • Ability to make effective presentations to scientists, management, clients, and investors

    Laboratory Technologist

    HTG is looking for a laboratory professional to learn and become an expert in our qNPA™ testing procedures and assist in the laboratory’s implementation of an FDA and ISO regulated Quality System. In addition, the position will be responsible for using previous experience to identify and implement improvements throughout the laboratory.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Perform qNPA testing following standard procedures utilizing a variety of detection methods.
    • Sample preparation, including macro-dissecting formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue, FFPE slide scraping, extracted RNA, and fresh frozen tissue lysis.
    • Maintain laboratory logs including equipment maintenance, calibration, and temperature.
    • Perform Quality Control testing on formulated and purchased reagents.
    • Maintains accurate and updated laboratory notebooks and production records
    • Adheres to Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and appropriate assay protocols

    Desired Experience:
    Bachelors Degree in a Life Science and/or Medical Technologist certification
    • Minimum 2 years experience in a FDA-regulated environment
    • Demonstrated expertise with basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, handling of nucleic acids and proteins, and documentation.
    • Experience with molecular techniques, such as PCR, FISH, and microarrays
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Experience with FFPE tissue (histological samples) is desirable.

    Executive Account Representatives (Various Locations)

The Company is seeking candidates who currently live in the aforementioned major metropolitan regions and who have strong sales experience to develop strategic sales plans, achieve sales, and monitor the marketplace to respond to changes in the competitive market. Candidates must possess excellent organizational, presentation, and communications skills. Successful candidates will be analytical thinkers capable of persuading and building consensus in large organizations and operating remotely and independently.

    Role and Responsibilities:
    • Develop a territory and account-specific sales plans.
    • Execute plan to meet sales quotas.
    • Use and maintain CRM.
    • Deliver technical/scientific seminars and presentations about HTG products and their capabilities.
    • Demonstrate role and relevance of HTG’s product portfolio and provide consultation to customers regarding the portfolio.
    • Demonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in collaborative sale.
    • Develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels an organization.
    • Minimum 50% field travel.

    Mandatory Qualifications:
    • Advanced life science degree (Ph.D. or Master’s in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology preferred). Must be able to understand and explain molecular biology based technology and products.
    • 5+ years commercial experience, preferably with core experience in life science or biotech companies. Strong preference for experience with research and laboratory products.
    • Preferred candidates will have previously demonstrated success with complex sales and within multi-layered environments.
    • Candidates must be a motivated self-starter with proactive prospecting skills, be highly adaptable and independent and have a strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
