About the position:
HTG is seeking a scientist who is available immediately for a Post Doc position funded through Arizona State University. The Candidate will perform collaborative research with ASU’s BioDesign Institute, adapting HTG’s proprietary quantitative Nuclease Protection Assay (qNPA™) and programmable arrays into a microfluidic platform. The position location is HTG’s facility in Tucson, Arizona. The Candidate will work closely with HTG’s internal R&D Team and have high profile exposure to HTG’s industry and academic clients. Results will be published. Position is grant funded through ASU and lasts one year. Compensation is based on experience and includes a full benefits package. Manager, Strategic Marketing

About the Opportunity: HTG is seeking an individual to develop the strategic direction for both key parts of its product portfolio and key customer segment groups. Depending on the size of the product portfolio, the individual may also have accountability for certain or all product management activities associated with the portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Develop, plan, monitor and communicate marketing strategies (short and long-term) for both key parts of the product portfolio and groups or segments of customers with clearly defined goals, objectives, critical success factors, timelines, budgets and action items.
• Initiate and direct market research activities, including development and implementation of surveys, focus groups, competitive profile summaries and reports. Analyze summaries of results and recommend strategic direction, goals and objectives from information gained.
• Identify market opportunities for HTG through developing and understanding competitor and market trends, including competitors’ product portfolios (existing and proposed), customer needs and wants, technology trends, etc. These duties will involve directing and managing inputs into the start of the New Product Realization (NPR) process, as well as helping to develop and support product applications development.
• Develop, communicate and implement strategic global marketing plans, including market research, situation analysis, product/technology positioning and elements of marketing mix (product, price, and promotion, distribution) to create competitive advantages. These duties will involve developing pricing strategies for all Product Groups as part of the annual list pricing exercise.
• Provide direction based on market-driven data to Scientific Applications, Marketing, R&D, Sales, Manufacturing, Business Development and Legal Departments to prioritize internal resources to capture short and long-term market opportunities.
• Ensure coordination with key cross-functional team members, including Product Management, Marketing Communications, Sales, Technical Support and R&D to identify appropriate resources and ensure appropriate input and successful implementation of the marketing plan.
• If managing any line reports (Product Associates, primarily), establish and maintain a professional, trained, and motivated staff through effective implementation of plans, delegation, performance and career development programs. Work with marketing management team to identify and mentor high potential employees.
• Develop, justify and manage budgets, revenue forecasts and investment plans to support market strategies and tactics.
• Measure performance against plans, report on results, and adjust strategies and tactics to achieve goals.
• Understand and comply with all elements of the HTG Quality System.
• Travel, some international, up to 30% of time.

• Demonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting.
• Experience in a strategic selling environment.
• Preferred candidates will have previously demonstrated success with complex sales and within multi-layered environments.
• Candidates must be a motivated self-starter with proactive prospecting skills, be highly adaptable and independent and have a strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
